In Like a Lion…

Well, March sure is coming in like a lion (as it does most years), and if the weather forecasters are right, it promises to go out like a lamb too.  This promise is what makes this (hopefully) last snow storm until November so sweet.  It sure has been beautiful, with its soft wet flakes falling on almost bare ground covering the trees and cars in a white blanket.  It’s been warm enough for the kids to enjoy themselves while playing in it too!

So we have spent this snowy March day reading, baking (yes, I love to bake on snowy days…who doesn’t?), making snow angels and throwing snowballs (the kids even found a big purple ball in the back yard…bonus), mopping up wet footprints from the floor, and just reveling in the beautiful views from our windows.

Happy Friday :)

It’s been a loooong week for me.  I apologize for my absence.  This week we:

  • did a lot of preparation for our Autumn celebration this Sunday.  We’ve been making lots of decorations and planning the menu.
  • worked hard in the garden getting things ready for the long winter to come.
  • visited my sister’s new home and warmed it up a bit for her 🙂
  • made a lovely fall family tree (maybe I’ll share a picture next week).

I hope you all enjoyed your weeks and are looking forward to the weekend like I am.  The weather’s been a little cloudy and gloomy here, but the rain is much appreciated.  The air has really cooled down and it should make for a lovely Fall celebration this weekend!  I’m really looking forward to cuddling up in my PJ’s with a beer and a good book this evening.  I might even turn on the heat.  See you all next week.

3 Cheers for Friday!

Here’s a peek at our harvest this morning (the kids gobbled up all of the strawberries):Image

It’s Friday, hip, hip hooray!!!!  It’s been a busy week for us, filled with:

4 days of summer camp.

Baking peanut butter, oat, chocolate chip cookies.

My husband’s 1st week riding the bus to work, and starting his new job.

Simplifying my son’s room by thinning out toys and books.

And 1 early morning doctor visit with 3 children in tow.

Needless to say, I’m happy it’s Friday and I’m looking forward to a calm relaxing weekend with my whole family close by 🙂
What did your week look like?
